Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Virginia’s Gainesville area seeks a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission-critical infrastructure with a target of 99.999% uptime. You’ll oversee generators, UPS, switchgear, CRAC, cooling systems, and related equipment to keep services running smoothly.

Role involves monitoring BMS/EPMS, troubleshooting, PM, and on-site collaboration with contractors, with shifts up to 12 hours and site travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years electrical facilities maintenance experience.
• 1+ years mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years MS Office experience or equivalent degree.
• Willingness to work flexible 24/7 shifts including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounds monitoring electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor BMS and EPMS; troubleshoot facility events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning as per SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repairs of equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management; project execution from concept to completion.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors; ensure work follows practices and regulations.
