Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure systems to ensure resilience against any situation.

Our Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) help maintain this environment by testing and implementing new technology and practices to meet market demands.

Key job responsibilities
  • Conduct daily building rounds to monitor and record data from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Create technical documentation to support change management.
  • Manage daily work requests to resolution and execute projects from conception to completion.
  • Support on-site contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  • Work shifts may vary up to 12 hours and include rotation and on-call duties.
  • This role may support multiple locations/sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness and ability to work in conditions requiring reasonable accommodations.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 39 pounds independently.
  • Participate in group lifts for over 40 pounds.
  • Maintain balance and perform tasks on ladders.
  • Perform various physical activities including walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting, bending, grasping, and carrying.
  • Work in environments requiring ear protection.
A day in the life

This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center equipment, reporting to the Facility Manager. Equipment includes generators, switchgear, UPS, batteries, CRAHU units, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, air handlers, pumps, motors, fire/life safety, building automation, and more.

Basic Qualifications
  • Technical training (military, trade school) or 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission-critical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
