Key job responsibilities
  • Conduct daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment ensuring 24/7 reliability.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
  • Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
  • Perform rack installations and decommissioning within SLAs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Write technical documentation to support change management.
  • Manage daily work requests from initiation to resolution and execute projects from conception to completion.
  • Support on-site contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  • Work shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
  • This role may support multiple locations/sites.
Physical Requirements

Willingness and ability to work in conditions such as:

  • Lifting/moving up to 39 pounds independently.
  • Participating in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
  • Maintaining balance and performing tasks on ladders.
  • Walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, twisting, bending, working above shoulders, grasping, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects.
  • Working with provided ear protection in noisy environments.
A day in the life

This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center equipment, reporting to the Data Center Facility Manager. Equipment includes generators, switchgear, UPS units, fire safety systems, cooling units, water systems, and more.

Basic Qualifications
  • Technical training (Military/Trade School) or 2+ years of electrical/mechanical/HVAC/fire system experience in critical infrastructure or similar industry.
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
