Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a dynamic Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Facility Manager to join the Global Infrastructure Operations organization. The role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within data centers to ensure high availability and reliability, supporting mission-critical servers with an uptime better than 99.9999%.

This position acts as Amazon’s front line for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, including generators, switchgear, UPS, cooling units, chillers, and fire suppression systems. Responsibilities include managing teams, overseeing safety and performance, engaging in improvement projects, coordinating with vendors, and managing budgets.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing all aspects of critical infrastructure to ensure quality and uptime.
  2. Managing team safety, security, and customer experience.
  3. Leading teams of engineering technicians and Facility Managers.
  4. Driving improvement projects from conception to completion.
  5. Maintaining staffing levels and participating in construction activities.
  6. Coordinating with third-party vendors to meet SLAs.
  7. Managing operations budget and expenditures.

AWS Infrastructure Services manages the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. The team is diverse, collaborative, and committed to safety, security, and innovation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in data centers or critical infrastructure, focusing on building and equipment operation.
  • 3+ years in a management role with 5+ direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years management experience with 5+ direct reports.
