Job summary

LinkedIn in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an experienced onsite Data Center Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will manage server hardware deployments, cabling, and initial configuration while acting as escalation for contracted technicians in your region.

You will monitor cooling systems, DCIM dashboards, and environmental conditions, performing preventive maintenance and change management in a fast-paced data center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience; technical certification considered.
• 2+ years in a data center operations or equivalent infrastructure role.
• Hands-on server hardware break-fix at the component level.
• Server and network deployment experience; racking and labeling QC.
• Physical-layer network troubleshooting; Linux boot/diagnostics; kickstart knowledge.
• Out-of-band management experience; IPMI/BMC, iDRAC, or equivalent.
• Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and redundancy concepts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor liquid-cooling infrastructure supporting GPU/ML fleet.
• Triage alarms from DCIM; escalate to Site Supervisor or Senior Engineer as needed.
• Coordinate and perform coolant sampling, water chemistry, and fluid testing.
• Review MOPs/SOPs; ensure work aligns with LinkedIn standards and risk review.
• Maintain maintenance calendars; schedule vendor onsite activities and safety briefings.
• Support server/storage/network deployments; perform initial configuration and QC.
• Troubleshoot server/network hardware issues and provide escalation for breaks.
• Work with provider teams on preventive maintenance and change management.
