Datacenter SME (Contract)

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Duration: 12+ Months

Pay Rate: $80/hr - $88/hr (without benefits)

Travel: 50%

Job Description

We are seeking a Datacenter Subject Matter Expert to support the Satellite Connectivity Group behind the client's Emergency SOS via satellite service. In this role, you’ll help design, build, and optimize globally distributed satellite communication systems that enable high-reliability connectivity for millions of users.

You will work across datacenter infrastructure, network architecture, and satellite/telecom systems to ensure the highest levels of uptime and performance. This includes overseeing critical electrical and mechanical systems, facility monitoring, fiber builds, vendor management, incident response, and project leadership for upgrades in production environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in datacenters or critical facilities, a strong understanding of high-availability infrastructure, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Experience with satellite ground stations or cellular sites is a plus. This role requires excellent communication skills, cross-functional collaboration, and up to 50% travel.
