Job summary

MXI Partners is seeking an Electrical Account Manager for Chantilly, VA to own client relationships and drive service revenue in the data center sector. You will lead service projects from on-site assessments to delivery, collaborating with field teams on critical power, cooling, and electrical systems.

The role requires a licensed Journeyman Electrician with 5+ years of field experience, proven bid and negotiation skills, and the ability to expand accounts through strategic client engagement.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Electrician License or higher in the state of employment.
• 5+ years of hands-on field experience in electrical work across commercial, industrial, or data center environments.
• Strong understanding of critical power systems including UPS, switchgear, and generators.
• Proven ability to transition from technical fieldwork into a client-facing or account management role; experience with estimation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and budget management.
• Knowledge of data center cooling systems, environmental controls, and colocation environments a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships - acting as a trusted technical advisor, serving as the primary point of contact for all service communications, and identifying opportunities to cross-sell and grow accounts.
• Conduct on-site visits with clients and field technicians to evaluate service needs, explain scopes of work, and ensure safe and accurate project delivery across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and data center environments.
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for client projects and partner with field teams to ensure scopes are realistic and deliverable.
• Manage service contracts, agreements, and client negotiations.
• Generate new leads and business development opportunities - identifying growth potential within existing accounts and representing the company at industry events and networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with field technicians to provide technical guidance on mission-critical power, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for all service activities and client projects.
• Provide strategic insights from the field to refine service offerings, improve processes, and align client service strategies with overall business goals in partnership with leadership.
