Job summary

Garmac Limited LLC is seeking a Data Center Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the DeKalb, Illinois data center project. The role focuses on safe, compliant execution across the construction roadmap and adherence to project timelines.

You will oversee day-to-day EHS activities using PMO standards, promoting safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across two nearby client sites.

Qualifications

• At least two years of construction-industry experience in a similar role.
• Experience with large structured-cabling projects and/or data center construction is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or BCSP certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or OHST.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations and the company’s IIPP.
• Develop, implement, and deliver safety and orientation training programs.
• Inspect facilities to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and verify implementation.
• Maintain safety records and documentation, including audits, inspections, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and SDSs.
• Participate in accident and injury investigations and assist with hearings, lawsuits, and insurance matters.
• Communicate effectively, organize and prioritize work, and use Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
