Job summary

Cedar seeks a Risk & Insurance Manager to oversee insurance programs for data center development and construction across its portfolio. You will coordinate strategy with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure compliant coverage and optimal pricing.

The role requires extensive experience in development risk, strong negotiation skills, and collaboration with Legal, Finance, and project leadership to protect Cedar’s financial interests.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in insurance, risk management, or related field.
• Experience managing programs for construction or real estate development.
• Experience with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and risk transfer.
• Ability to challenge broker recommendations and negotiate terms.
• Certifications in risk/insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate insurance strategy and coverage requirements for new development projects and active construction sites.
• Manage Cedar and Developer level insurance programs and ensure alignment with operations and portfolio.
• Lead annual renewal process, collect exposure data, and assess coverage options.
• Coordinate certificates, endorsements, and evidence of coverage with project teams and partners.
• Partner with Legal on indemnification, insurance terms, and contractual risk matters.
