Job summary

Pkaza Data Center Recruiting seeks a Data Center Engineering Design Director in Dallas, TX to lead electrical and mechanical infrastructure design for mission-critical facilities. You will oversee project teams, ensure design quality, and drive standards across the lifecycle.

The role requires 7–15+ years in data center engineering, strong leadership, and expertise with NEC, colocation design, and commissioning. A DS/ME background and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree or PE/EIT license a plus.
• 7–15+ years of data center engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience at an MEP Consulting, A/E, or engineering firm is required.
• Deep understanding of critical MEP infrastructure, commissioning, and operations handover.
• Experience with hyperscale and colocation data center design and construction.
• Familiarity with NEC, building codes, standards, and best practices.
• Proficiency in engineering tools and platforms (AutoCAD, Revit, MATLAB, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data center engineering design projects across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Oversee design contracts, specifications, and standards development.
• Guide greenfield concepts including electrical systems, HVAC, and power analysis.
• Mentor engineers and SMEs; provide strategic leadership across project lifecycle.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and risk; ensure timely delivery and compliance.
• Collaborate with BD, product, QA/QC, commissioning, construction, and operations teams.
• Lead design-related change management and RFIs; drive design improvements and resiliency.
