IDR, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Deployment Lead to drive rack build and land/level activities on 100% onsite, travel-based engagements across the US (and potentially Canada).

You will serve as the field execution lead and onsite authority for rack build, installation, and readiness, coordinating suppliers and site teams. The role requires 7+ years in data center deployments, strong ability to read drawings, and proven onsite leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data center infrastructure deployment experience, preferably large-scale/hyperscale.
• Strong rack build/rack-and-stack and land & level installation knowledge.
• Ability to lead onsite teams/vendors with minimal oversight and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead rack build (Stage 1) execution to ensure racks meet BOMs, designs, and build standards.
• Oversee rack installation (land & level): ingress, placement, leveling, mounting, and floor-securement per layout drawings.
• Own quality and readiness sign-off; stop progression on non-conforming work until issues are corrected.
• Serve as onsite technical escalation for configuration/design interpretation; troubleshoot issues and manage risks.
• Coordinate vendors and onsite workstreams (logistics, build, installation, connectivity) and provide status reporting.

Job description

IDR is seeking a Data Center Deployment Lead (Rack Build & Land/Level) to join an exciting, 100% onsite, travel-based opportunity supporting large-scale and hyperscale data center deployments across the US (and potentially Canada). This role will serve as the field execution lead and onsite technical authority for rack build and rack installation ("land & level"), owning quality, coordination, and readiness for downstream connectivity and commissioning.

Position Overview for the Data Center Deployment Lead (Rack Build & Land/Level):

• Lead rack build (Stage 1) execution, ensuring racks meet approved BOMs, designs, and build standards.
• Oversee rack installation (land & level): ingress, placement, leveling, mounting, and securing to floor standards per layout drawings.
• Own quality and readiness sign-off; stop progression on non-conforming work until issues are corrected.
• Serve as onsite technical escalation for configuration/design interpretation; troubleshoot issues and manage risks proactively.
• Coordinate vendors and onsite workstreams (logistics, build, installation, connectivity) and provide clear status reporting.

Requirements for the Data Center Deployment Lead:

• 7+ years of data center infrastructure deployment experience (large-scale/hyperscale preferred).
• Strong rack build/rack-and-stack plus land & level installation knowledge; comfortable reading drawings and floor plans.
• Proven ability to lead onsite teams/vendors with minimal oversight and strong communication skills.
• Willing to be 100% onsite with heavy travel (often 4–5+ weeks per site) across the US; Canada possible (passport preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass client background checks (some clients review 12–15 years).
