Job summary

Serverfarm is a leading data center developer and operator with 750+ locations and global reach. We are expanding rapidly and seek a skilled technician to maintain critical infrastructure, monitor power and environmental conditions, and support construction and commissioning activities across our sites.

You will work closely with the site team to ensure 100% uptime, follow safety regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement of operations and change control processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Data Center delivering customer requirements in a critical tech environment.
• Evidence of self-management and ability to handle changing priorities.
• Good written and oral communication skills with high accuracy.
• Experience operating and maintaining chilled water cooling systems.
• Experience operating and maintaining DX cooling systems.
• Experience with backup electrical systems such as UPS and generators.
• Experience with Building Management systems and Fire alarm/detection systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MEP plant and distribution infrastructure safely per best practice and manufacturer recommendations.
• Monitor power and environmental conditions in all critical spaces.
• Perform maintenance tasks per SF CMMS and practices.
• Assist planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities.
• Escort and support outside contractors and enforce SF rules.
• Respond to site incidents and document actions per MOP/EOP.
• Support Change Control policies and procedures.
• Conduct site rounds and report issues to management.
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed.
• Adhere to safety laws and requirements.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
• Support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation and site policy development.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations
• Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
• Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event
• Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures
• Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
• Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
• Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
• Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site
• Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
• Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure

Required Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 2+ years experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment
• Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
• Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy
• Operating and maintaining chilled water-cooling systems
• Operating and maintaining DX cooling systems
• Operating and maintaining backup electrical systems such as UPS and generators
• Operating Building Management systems and Fire alarm and detection systems
• Building facility maintenance
