Job summary

Salute is seeking a motivated Critical Facilities Engineer I to join our Cheyenne data center team, providing on-site support for IT infrastructure, monitoring, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance under client SLAs. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining facilities systems, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring safe, reliable power and cooling.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of directly related experience in operation, installation, and maintenance of data center equipment.
• High school diploma or GED with two+ years in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including feeders, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS/STS, PDU/PMM, chillers, air handling units, and CRAC units.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
• Perform planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance with engineering, mechanical, and maintenance trades.
• Inspect building systems (HVAC, electrical distribution) and maintain clean, safe equipment rooms.
• Rapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints.
• Create, close, and track work requests (WR); initiate or respond to work orders and verify completion.
• Monitor performance and note deficiencies of service contractors; recommend changes as necessary.
• Perform related duties as assigned by management; support data center services and customer needs.
• Act as operational contact for data center customers, vendors, and carriers.
