Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Data Center & Core Network Engineer to help design, deploy and operate a large-scale data center network across regions from Mountain View, CA. This hybrid role balances hands-on engineering with cross-functional collaboration to meet business objectives.

You will review architectures, automate provisioning, and drive improvements in reliability, observability, and security. The role requires 5+ years in hyperscale network engineering and strong Python/Go scripting skills,

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in network and data center engineering in hyperscalers environment.
• 5+ years programming experience in Python/Go or scripting languages.
• Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, RDMA, QoS and related network technologies.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, host networking and HPC networking.
• Experience with network management and provisioning tools (Ansible, REST/gRPC, NETCONF, Jenkins, Puppet, YANG, OpenConfig).

Responsibilities

• Review architectures, designs, automation tools, and advise on improvements for performance and reliability.
• Design, deploy, and operate large-scale data center networks across regions.
• Perform network maintenance and upgrades and automate deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotations and address network incidents and post-mortems.
• Evaluate new platforms and coordinate with OEMs/ODMs to support the tech stack.
