Job summary

GTA Data Centers is seeking a Facility HVAC Technician to operate and maintain data center cooling systems. You will manage CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and BMS interfaces, performing rounds, monitoring environmental conditions, and responding to alarms to protect critical infrastructure.

The role requires 2+ years in HVAC or related fields, with EPA or HVAC certification preferred. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between locations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; HVAC trade school or certification preferred.
• 2+ years in HVAC, refrigeration, facilities maintenance, or related field.
• EPA refrigerant or HVAC certification preferred or able to obtain.
• Must have valid driver's license and be willing to travel between locations.
• Must pass background checks and follow security/safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled rounds for cooling equipment, airflow, temperature, humidity, leaks, alarms, and environmental conditions.
• Inspect CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, cooling loops, dampers, filters, and related HVAC components.
• Monitor BMS/EPMS displays and report alarm or telemetry issues.
• Respond to cooling, humidity, and environmental alarms escalated by GTA NOC.
• Support preventive maintenance per procedures and safety rules.
• Replace filters, belts, and consumables when qualified.
• Identify airflow problems and containment issues; report findings.
• Assist vendors during maintenance, repairs, and commissioning.
• Record readings, alarms, work performed, and parts used.
• Escalate abnormal conditions to Facility Engineer and Director of Technical Operations.
• Perform weekly data hall inspections and report findings.
