Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Mechanical Controls Engineer to ensure the operational integrity and reliability of data center infrastructure systems that power the world's largest cloud platform.

You will maintain electrical, mechanical, and control systems to maximize uptime and availability. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and construction teams, develop SOPs and EOPs for infrastructure systems, and drive continuous improvement across the data

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Experience in commissioning
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio
• Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
