Job summary

MPI is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial/industrial projects in Texas. You will supervise and develop the project team, manage budgets for general conditions, and coordinate field changes.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management, 10+ years on large projects ($50M-$100M), OSHA 30, STS-C, and strong safety leadership. Proficiency with MS Office and pull planning is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
  • 10+ years on $50M-$100M commercial/industrial construction projects or multiple projects as a superintendent.
  • OSHA 30-hour certified.
  • STS-C Certification.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry standard construction software.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and develops the project team.
  • Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services.
  • Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan for field changes.
  • Leads site walks with owner, architect/engineer, and lenders to show progress.
  • Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades and anticipate issues.
  • Verifies permits for subcontractors.
  • Acts as primary safety representative in the field and drives safety culture.
  • Develops safety strategies and oversees safety across project personnel.
  • Conducts maintenance and planning of workarounds, shutdowns, and tie-ins.
  • Reviews, completes, and ensures accuracy of daily reports.
  • Communicates schedule status and changes to team and contractors.
  • Coordinates and manages jobsite logistics.
  • Develops QIC plan with Operations Excellence team and implements changes.

Description
  • Supervises and develops the project team
  • Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services
  • Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the field
  • Leads site walks with the owner, architect/engineer, and financial institutions to show construction progress
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of contract documents in order to coordinate trades, plan ahead, and proactively anticipate potential problems
  • Obtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes
  • Acts as primary safety representative in the field, monitoring safety performance and verifying safety compliance with all trades
  • Develops safety strategies and drives safety culture across all project personnel
  • Conducts maintenance and planning of "workarounds," shutdowns and tie-ins
  • Accountable for review, completion, and accuracy of daily reports
  • Communicates schedule status, updates, and changes to project team and trade contractors
  • Coordinates and manages jobsite logistics
  • Develops the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan in partnership with the Operations Excellence team, oversees the plan and implements necessary changes
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10+ years of experience on $50 million -$100+ million commercial/industrial construction project(s) or multiple projects as a superintendent
  • OSHA 30-hour certified
  • STS-C Certification
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other industry standard construction software tools
  • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Familiarity with Pull Planning Process
