Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking an experienced supervisor for data center construction projects focused on structured cabling, fiber, and critical infrastructure. You will manage large crews, ensure safety and OSHA compliance, and coordinate schedule-driven field execution across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include overseeing union crews, adhering to bargaining agreements, and developing quality control programs. Experience with OTDR, Blue Beam, and design documents is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience on large multi-million-dollar projects in structured cabling.
• Experience leading data center installations and critical infrastructure cabling.
• Familiarity with union rules, collective bargaining agreements, and work jurisdiction.
• Knowledge of safety programs and OSHA standards applicable to construction sites.
• Experience in developing and monitoring quality control programs.

• Oversee large, geographically dispersed teams (100+).
• Ensure compliance with union rules and bargaining agreements.
• Monitor safety programs and OSHA compliance on site.
• Manage project scheduling and field execution for data center cabling projects.
• Lead interviewing and hiring to staff crews for data center install work.

• Data Center Construction, Structured Cabling, Fiber, Safety program management & OSHA standards, Develop and monitor Quality Control Programs, project scheduling, interviewing/hiring, OTDR, design documents, and construction scheduling, Blue Beam, Union rules, collective bargaining agreements
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience on large multi-million-dollar projects focused on the installation of Structured Cabling Systems.
• Managing teams of 100+
• Experienced in effectively managing large, geographically dispersed teams (100+) on large projects and construction sites.
• Experience in overseeing mission critical infrastructure cabling installations for Data Center new build and retrofit projects highly preferred.
• Union rules and regulations
• Preferred experience leading and managing large union telecom crews, with a deep understanding of union rules, collective bargaining agreements, work jurisdiction, and labor compliance.
• Preferred professional certifications:
• OSHA-30 Hour certification (if not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment)
• BICSI Technician (TECH)
• BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
