Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Lincoln, NE to perform routine commissioning assignments, applying basic engineering principles to ensure successful commissioning using prescribed methods for specific tasks. This role offers two levels (I and II) with compensation based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum one year of construction management or commissioning experience with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction documents and their relation to PM, field executions, QA/QC.
• Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and delivery.
• Ability to relate construction deliverables to commissioning deliverables.
• Intermediate skills in MS Office, project management, and web apps; familiarity with BIM360 or Cx Alloy.
• Meaningful communication of policies; strong customer service and openness to feedback.
• Travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Review owner project requirements.
• Assist in performing scope reviews.
• Create commissioning plans, checklists, and tests.
• Perform field visits and observe inspections and tests.
• Write issue descriptions and field reports.
• Create Systems Manuals.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and levels.
• Support planning and execution of system tests including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems.
