Job summary

DataOne is seeking a Cleaning Technician for our mission-critical data center facility. You will maintain a clean, dust-free, and contamination-controlled environment in server rooms, raised floors, and adjacent spaces, following strict safety and cleanliness standards.

The role emphasizes performing specialized cleaning with data-center-approved, low-particulate, static-safe methods, and includes documenting tasks and adhering to access protocols in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to pass a background check and security clearance.
• Willingness to learn static-sensitive equipment handling and contamination control.
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety procedures precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of server rooms, data halls, raised floors, and equipment racks using data-center-approved, low-particulate, static-safe cleaning methods and materials.
• Vacuum and clean under raised floor tiles, cable trays, and air plenum spaces to reduce dust and debris that could affect airflow or equipment performance.
• Clean and sanitize non-technical areas including offices, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, entryways, and loading docks.
• Use anti-static (ESD-safe) equipment, tools, and cleaning products to prevent damage to sensitive electronic systems.
• Follow strict protocols for entering and working within secure, access-controlled data center environments.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and manage waste disposal in accordance with facility policy.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request restocking as needed.
• Complete cleaning logs, checklists, and documentation to verify tasks performed and maintain compliance records.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
