Job summary

Black Box in Abilene, TX is seeking an Infrastructure Technician II to build, maintain, and optimize structured cabling systems powering data centers. This hands-on role offers exposure to fiber and copper cabling, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

You will install, test, terminate, and decommission cabling, read project drawings, mentor teammates, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years telecom/structured cabling experience; data center a strong plus.
• OSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days.
• FOA/BICSI or similar credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, splice, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including fiber optics, copper, and other low voltage systems.
• Read project drawings/specifications and ensure installations meet design intent and standards.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and plan materials/tools to keep projects moving smoothly.
