Job summary

Blue Signal Search seeks a Data Center Cabling Superintendent to lead field execution at a major data center site in Forest City, NC or Las Vegas, NV. You will own onsite cabling operations, coordinate labor, and drive delivery with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Direct superintendent-level experience leading structured cabling projects specifically within data center environments is required.
• 7 or more years of supervisory or managerial experience leading technicians or other direct reports.
• 5 or more years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, low voltage infrastructure, or a related technical construction field.
• Strong knowledge of data center structured cabling practices, installation processes, field standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
• Demonstrated success managing customer-facing field execution, including technician leadership, workload planning, issue resolution, project completion, and turnover.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and technical project documentation while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make sound operational decisions in a fast-moving field environment.
• High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Project is expected, along with the ability to complete approximately one month of initial training in San Francisco before reporting to the assigned site.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite structured cabling operations within an active data center environment, coordinating daily priorities, labor, and project execution.
• Build and lead the local technician team through hiring, onboarding, training, workload distribution, coaching, and performance management.
• Establish a strong site culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, workmanship, and reliable project delivery.
• Serve as a primary onsite customer contact, communicating progress, resolving field challenges, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Own projects from initial planning and task development through field execution, quality control, closeout, and customer turnover.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and project documentation while balancing multiple concurrent workstreams and changing priorities.
• Collaborate with deployment, maintenance, engineering, and other technical teams to coordinate implementation and solve operational issues in the field.
• Identify opportunities to improve structured cabling workflows and train field personnel on new processes, tools, and operating procedures.

Our client is scaling a new approach to data center infrastructure delivery, combining proven structured cabling practices with advanced automation technology. They are seeking an experienced Data Center Cabling Superintendent to take ownership of field execution at a major data center site. This is an opportunity for a seasoned cabling leader to apply deep industry knowledge in an environment focused on improving how large-scale infrastructure is deployed. The right candidate will build and lead the local field team, establish strong operating standards, and serve as a trusted partner to the customer as deployment activity grows.
