Job summary

JSI TELECOM LLC in Secaucus, NJ seeks a Data Center Operations technician to perform cable connectivity, equipment installation and troubleshooting in a live data center setting.

The role requires experience in network cabling, rack-and-stack, fiber optics, and testing. You must have a valid driver's license, be able to lift server gear, and work primarily evenings with occasional weekends. On‑demand, on-site position with independent ticket execution.

Qualifications

• 2–10 years of relevant experience.

• Experience patching and cabling to servers, switches, firewalls, routers.

Responsibilities

• Install and connect IT equipment in a live data center.
• Cable and test Cat6 and fiber optic circuits.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and power issues.
• Provide remote hands and communicate with remote engineers.
• Patch and rack servers and network gear.
• Lift and rack server equipment.
• Work evenings with some weekends and on-demand as needed.

On demand position available for Data Center Operations technician for cable connectivity ,equipment installation and trouble shooting in Live data center setting.

Technicians must be skilled in one or more of the following fields: network cabling,IT equipment rack and stack, cabling and power connections, Test, Terminate repair Cat6 twisted pair cable.

Fiber Optic cable connections, troubleshoot, repair, polarity, test with power meter. etc.

Must be able to communicate clearly and have understanding of how to execute scope of work efficiently.

Must have drivers license and reliable vehicle or reliable means to travel to site in Northern NJ.
Experience 2- 10 years is required.

Ideally the candidate will have experience in DC setting, execute patch, providing remote hands, communicating with remote engineers during trouble shooting efforts, trouble shooting cabling to servers, switches, firewalls, routers, etc.

Must be able lift server equipment for racking.

Must have the ability to communicate results of trouble shooting efforts.

Must have experience extending Fiber optic circuits and Ethernet cable circuits.

Must be reliable and willing to work mostly evenings( 2nd shift) and some weekends.

Must be able to work independently to execute a work ticket in DC.

Job description:

DC technician on demand on second shift 1-3 nights per week. There is some flexibility in this position for the right candidate. This is steady second income that will not be time consuming to any ones evenings.

Hours are from about 6-10pm most nights, with some flexibility.
