Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Google Knowledge Catalog Engineer to build, curate, and maintain an enterprise-wide data and context catalog on Google Cloud. You will ensure discoverability, quality, and semantic richness of metadata across BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Spanner, Vertex AI, and more.

You will design catalog structures, enrich metadata, and automate ingestion pipelines. Collaboration with data governance and business stakeholders is essential to enforce standards and drive adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, governance, or metadata management.
• Hands-on with Google Cloud: BigQuery and Knowledge Catalog/Dataplex.
• Strong SQL; Python for automation.
• Familiar with metadata concepts: lineage, glossaries, taxonomy design.
• Understanding of data governance and compliance principles (access controls).
• Experience with APIs and automation tooling for metadata ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain catalog structures in Google Cloud Knowledge Catalog.
• Curate and enrich metadata including ownership and lineage.
• Build semantic layers and ontologies to support natural-language search.
• Automate metadata ingestion and tagging pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineering and governance teams to enforce standards.
• Monitor catalog health and drive adoption across teams.
