Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Software Developer II to design, develop, test, and support automation and cloud-based data platforms across North American business systems. The role focuses on account/customer domains, data reliability, and AI-ready data pipelines for modernization.

You will backfill modernization and cloud data migration efforts while ensuring operational stability, governance, and production readiness across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with enterprise data integration and account/customer domains.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Shell scripting for automation.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, and Kafka.
• Cloud experience with Azure AKS and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for web services.
• Understanding of AI-ready data pipelines and governance.
• Experience with GitHub, Jira, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software and automation solutions for data domains.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for data migration and reconciliation.
• Build and support data integration pipelines across source and cloud platforms.
• Implement monitoring, reconciliation frameworks, and audit controls.
• Leverage Spark and Databricks for large-scale data processing.
• Support event-driven architectures using Kafka for real-time data publishing.
• Contribute to AI-ready data pipelines and governance for leadership dashboards.
• Participate in design walkthroughs, code reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
• Provide on-call and production support for data hubs and account-domain processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for knowledge transfer.
