Job summary

Biogen, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director of Data Engineering & Architecture to shape enterprise data architectures and advance DMA strategy. Hybrid role with 3 days on campus in Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC.

Lead data standards, governance, and technology evaluation across projects to deliver scalable data solutions that support business goals. You will mentor teams, drive design reviews, and collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align data initiatives with strategic objectives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years in Data Management, Analytics, or related areas.
• 3+ years in cross-system/full-stack architecture using Snowflake.
• Proven ability to develop Snowflake data platform roadmaps.
• Strong expertise in cloud data platforms, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, technology strategies, and Snowflake roadmaps.
• Establish data governance standards including metadata management, data quality, lineage, and privacy compliance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies in cloud, AI, analytics, and data through assessments and POCs.
• Collaborate with IT stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Lead architecture design, solution reviews, and technical governance for data initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance for implementation teams.
• Manage stakeholder requests and prioritize them to meet business needs.
• Facilitate meetings with IT and business stakeholders to drive alignment on business needs.
• Engage with leadership to manage dependencies across departments.
• Make independent decisions on complex projects and strategic initiatives.
• Plan and estimate project timelines to deliver as per priorities.
