Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Architecture Analyst to bridge finance teams and LCNC engineers. You will design data schemas, map workflows, and translate Army financial requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

You will ensure the new platform provides role-based dashboards and user experiences tailored to mission needs, with strong emphasis on data lineage and controls. Active clearance and deep domain knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance (or higher).
• 5+ years of business or functional analysis experience.
• Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, and supporting system migration efforts.

Responsibilities

• Document business processes, data structures, calculations, workflows, and write-back processes to transition functionality off GFEBS BW.
• Develop use cases, user stories, and maintain requirements traceability from current state through LCNC implementation.
• Draft essential user guides, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support the sustainment handoff.
• Communicate effectively with both functional users and technical integration teams to ensure data ingestion preserves source lineage and control totals.

SMX is hiring a Data Architecture Analyst to bridge the gap between functional finance teams and technical LCNC engineers. You will design data schemas, map process workflows, and translate complex Army financial requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. You will ensure the new platform provides role-based exception dashboards and fit-for-purpose user experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Document business processes, data structures, calculations, workflows, and write-back processes to transition functionality off GFEBS BW.

• Develop use cases, user stories, and maintain requirements traceability from current state through LCNC implementation.

• Draft essential user guides, data dictionaries, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support the sustainment handoff.

• Communicate effectively with both functional users and technical integration teams to ensure data ingestion preserves source lineage and control totals.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance (or higher).

• 5+ years of business or functional analysis experience supporting enterprise IT systems.

• Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, and supporting system migration efforts.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience processing large-scale federal financial datasets.

• Familiarity with data manipulation frameworks (e.g., Python, pandas, PyArrow) to understand complex data transformations.

• Experience with data modeling/documentation techniques/approaches.

The proposed salary for this position is:

$125,000—$150,000 USD
