Job summary

NewGen Technologies seeks a Data Architect II to design, develop, secure, and optimize Oracle-based relational and multidimensional data environments. You will use Oracle SQL/PL/SQL to support efficient management and automation, applying performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high-availability best practices.

The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust designation for access to sensitive government information.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant Oracle SQL/PL/SQL experience with data environments
• Associate degree required with experience in database design and automation
• Experience in performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high availability
• Experience with data warehousing, data marts, and data integration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Define, design, develop, and maintain relational and multidimensional Oracle database structures supporting enterprise applications, data warehouses, and data marts
• Develop and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries, procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and automation scripts for efficient database management and repeatable operations
• Review schemas, indexes, execution plans, queries, and database workloads; identify bottlenecks and implement performance-tuning improvements
• Develop and maintain data acquisition, integration, migration, archival backup, recovery, and continuity strategies in coordination with database administrators and technical teams
• Apply database security practices, including access controls, least privilege, secure coding, auditing, and protection of sensitive information to preserve confidentiality and data integrity
• Support high availability, production readiness, monitoring, troubleshooting, standards, metadata, documentation, and continuous improvement across test and production environments

Job description

Design, develop, secure, and improve Oracle-based relational and multidimensional data environments. The Data Architect II uses Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to support efficient database management and automation and applies strong performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high-availability practices to protect data integrity and service continuity.

Responsibilities

• Define, design, develop, and maintain relational and multidimensional Oracle database structures supporting enterprise applications, data warehouses, and data marts

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience with an Associate degree. Experience should include Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, development, database design, automation, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, high availability, data integration, and support of test or production database environments
