Job Description

CapTech Data Architects align our clients’ business goals with available technologies to develop strategies for successful data delivery implementations. They enhance business value by improving data use, information stewardship, and streamlining data flows. After understanding our client’s challenges, architects apply experience-based insight and utilize state-of-the-art tools to identify optimal solutions. They are thought leaders in the data space, responsible for growing CapTech talent and expanding data and analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities include:

1. Assessing and advocating data management technologies and practices to bridge gaps between current and future states.
2. Interpreting and delivering strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery supporting business initiatives.
3. Formulating architectural trade-offs and recommending solutions that meet technical requirements.
4. Mentoring and developing staff through teaching and influence.
5. Collaborating with stakeholders to maximize data value across organizations.
6. Driving innovation through emerging trend leadership.
7. Sharing project outcomes to improve future delivery.
8. Partnering with business development to demonstrate capabilities and estimate work plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization, and analytics technologies.
• Proficiency in end-to-end data architecture including ingestion, storage, and relational modeling using SQL and Python.
• Experience with modern data architectures, cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Kinesis, DataFlow, Airflow), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, HBase, CosmosDB), and data warehouse tools like Snowflake and DataBricks.
• Ability to relate architectural decisions to business needs and culture.
• Knowledge of data governance practices including MDM, security, and privacy policies.
