Qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering or architecture experience in a consulting/professional services environment.
• Proactively using GenAI and Agents at every SDLC step to improve quality and speed.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric at enterprise production scale (minimum 1 year with Fabric).
• Proven ability to architect and deliver across multiple data platforms and advise on fit.
• Strong PySpark and SQL skills with experience designing complex transformations at scale.
• Experience designing medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architectures and Delta Lake patterns.
• Strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
• Experience migrating from legacy data environments to modern cloud platforms.

The Opportunity

You will lead architecture decisions, set engineering standards, and stay hands‑on through delivery. Expect to split your time between individual technical contribution and guiding the engineers around you.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Lead data platform architecture and solution design for client engagements, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
• Stay hands‑on across the delivery lifecycle through coding, prototyping, and technical problem‑solving (~50% individual contribution)
• Define and ensure teams follow data engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices across Snowflake, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric
• Drive platform selection decisions, advising clients on the right fit based on their data landscape and objectives

Client & Consulting Engagement

• Partner with client stakeholders and leadership to translate business challenges into data architecture solutions, explaining in clear, business‑relevant language
• Lead technical discovery sessions and contribute to presales solution shaping and proposal development
• Provide technical oversight to data engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, and hands‑on support
• Lead and guide the team to ensure projects meet scope, timeline, and quality goals
• Guide clients in adopting GenAI and Agentic AI, applying these tools actively yourself
• Contribute to Provoke's AI service offerings

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of data engineering or architecture experience, with at least 3 years in a consulting or professional services environment
• Proactively using Gen AI and Agents at every step of the SDLC to improve quality and speed
• Hands‑on experience with multiple data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric at enterprise production scale (1 year minimum hands on working experience using Microsoft Fabric required)
• Proven ability to architect and deliver across multiple data platforms, advising on platform fit based on client context
• Strong PySpark and SQL skills; experienced designing and reviewing complex transformations at scale
• Experience designing medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architectures and applying Delta Lake or equivalent patterns
• Strong communication skills across both technical and executive audiences
• Experience migrating from legacy or siloed data environments to modern cloud data platforms

Desirable Qualifications

• Certifications in one or more platforms: Snowflake SnowPro, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Microsoft DP-600, or equivalent
• Experience with dbt or other transformation frameworks across Snowflake, Databricks, or Fabric
• Exposure to data governance tooling (Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, or similar)
• Prior experience leading client workshops, design sprints, or contributing to proposal responses

US. Travel 25-50% required
