Job summary

Lorven Technologies Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer / Architect with deep Snowflake, DBT, and cloud data warehousing expertise to design scalable data architectures and robust ELT pipelines.

You will lead data modelling, optimize Snowflake performance and costs, and collaborate with analytics teams to deliver trusted data across the business. Ideal candidates have 12+ years of experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 12+ years of overall work experience and 5+ years in data architecture/engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake expertise for data warehouse design, security, sharing, and performance.
• Proficiency with DBT for modelling, tests, and deployment; experience building robust pipelines.
• Solid experience with ELT/ETL solutions and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
• Proficient SQL; Python is a plus.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (Looker/Tableau/Power BI) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable data solutions using Snowflake and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Design and maintain data models (star/snowflake, data vault) and pipelines with DBT.
• Develop, optimize, and document ELT/ETL workflows and governance practices.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to collect requirements and deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Establish data quality, integrity, and security standards across environments.
• Monitor Snowflake performance, costs, and resource usage; optimize accordingly.
• Advise on data architecture strategy, tooling, and process improvements.
• Mentor junior data engineers and analysts on modelling, transformation, and Snowflake/DBT best practices.
• Stay current with trends in cloud data warehousing and analytics.

Job Title: Data Engineer / Architect (Snowflake & DBT)

About the Role:

• We are seeking a skilled Data Architect with deep expertise in cloud data warehousing, particularly with Snowflake, and experience building robust data transformation pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool).
• The ideal candidate will design scalable data architectures, implement best practices for data modelling, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable, high-performance data solutions using Snowflake and the cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Design and maintain data models (star/snowflake schemas, data vault, etc.) and data pipelines leveraging DBT.
• Develop, optimize, and document ELT/ETL workflows, ensuring adherence to best practices in data transformation and governance.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Establish and enforce data quality, integrity, and security standards.
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, costs, and resource utilization.
• Advise on data architecture strategy, new tools, and process improvements.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers and analysts on data modelling, transformation, and Snowflake/DBT best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in cloud data warehousing, data modelling, and analytics.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 12+ years of overall work experience and 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Snowflake (data warehouse design, query optimization, security, data sharing, etc.).
• Proficient in DBT (developing models, tests, documentation, deployment, etc.).
• Solid experience with ELT/ETL solutions and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
• Proficient in SQL; experience with Python is a plus.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques and best practices for analytics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional cloud data platforms (e.g., Big Query, Redshift).
• Familiar with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and practices for data pipelines.
