Tata Consultancy Services in Atlanta, GA, seeks a senior Data Architect to own the enterprise data architecture, align with cloud-first strategy, and design AWS-based data lake architectures using Medallion layers.

You will establish data modeling standards, drive batch and near real-time processing, ensure security and cost optimization, and mentor engineers while partnering with BI and governance teams.

Job description

• Define and own the enterprise data architecture aligned with business strategy and cloud-first principles.
• Design and implement AWS-based data lake architectures, leveraging Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Establish standards for data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) for analytical and reporting workloads.
• Drive architectural decisions for batch and near–real-time data processing.
• Architect solutions using AWS services such as:
• S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation
• EMR, Lambda, Step Functions
• Kinesis / MSK (streaming, where applicable)
• Ensure architectures are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and highly available.
• Collaborate with cloud platform teams to align on networking, IAM, encryption, and governance.
• Guide data ingestion patterns from multiple sources (operational systems, SaaS platforms, APIs, streaming sources).
• Define standards for ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, and data quality frameworks.
• Partner with Data Engineering teams to ensure architectural integrity during implementation.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Enable BI and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight) through optimized data models and semantic layers.
• Design Gold-layer datasets optimized for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• Ensure consistency and reliability of enterprise KPIs and metrics.

Governance, Quality & Security

• Establish data governance principles including metadata management, lineage, cataloging, and stewardship.
• Define data quality rules, monitoring, and remediation processes.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership.
• Review and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with target architecture.
• Mentor data engineers, analysts, and junior architects.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and modernization initiatives.

Salary Range-$100,000-$150,000 a year
