Job summary

Valley Bank is offering a Data & Transformation Associate program designed to develop capabilities across data science, business transformation, and IT. You will work with cross‑functional teams on meaningful banking and fintech projects while receiving mentorship and formal training.

Through three focused tracks—Data Science & AI, Business Transformation, and Information Technology—you’ll gain hands‑on experience and regular feedback, with a path to full‑time placement upon program completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, computer information systems, business analytics/data science, or related field.
• Academic or internship-based knowledge of databases, web services, cloud computing, security and project management.
• 0-2 years of relevant work or internship experience supporting Transformation, Technology or Data organization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom training to deepen knowledge in specific professional skills as well as banking and fintech concepts.
• Learn the core business activities of a commercial & consumer bank.
• Complete projects within assigned track in a timely manner and collaborate effectively across teams within the Data-Analytics, Technology and Transformation organizations.
• Work on transformational projects aligned with strategic objectives.
• Follow best practices and standards for coding, testing, documentation, and security.
• Develop data driven presentations.
• Under Managements direction, learns to manage projects, completing specific assigned tasks.
• Analyze, organize, and use data & insights to support decision making.

The Data & Transformation Associate will work on challenging and meaningful projects that have a direct impact on the company\u2019s products and services. Participants will learn from experienced mentors and collaborate with cross-functional teams. In this role, participants will have the opportunity to explore various aspects of banking, consulting, data and fintech, gaining hands on experience in three focused tracks: Data Science & AI, Business Transformation, and Information Technology. Participants will also receive regular feedback and coaching to help them develop their skills and career. At the end of the 18- 24-month program, participants will have the opportunity to apply for or be matched to a full-time position that matches their interests and strengths.

Required Experience

Preferred Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant work or internship experience supporting Transformation, Technology or Data organization.


• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.


• Experience with data analysis, visualization, or machine learning is a plus.


• Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies such as Git, Agile, or Scrum.
