Job description

Position Summary

This person will lead a team to support Chord Marketing in various areas, including contract management, counterparty settlements, system maintenance and optimization, preparation of accounting deliverables, audit, and compliance. Internal communication is required with departments such as Legal, Treasury, IT, Financial Reporting, and Accounting, along with external communication with companies involved in Marketing transactions. This position reports directly to the Midstream Director and is located in downtown Houston, TX. A hybrid work schedule with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays is available. Level and salary are commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Train, develop, and supervise the team.
  2. Manage monthly crude and gas pricing accruals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and review all team deliverables.
  3. Collaborate with Accounting to understand and explain Marketing deals, market trends, and monthly financial variances.
  4. Ensure the timely and accurate settlement process with counterparties.
  5. Manage the EMK3 Marketing system, overseeing workflows, system upgrades, and transaction accuracy.
  6. Handle contract management by establishing scalable archiving processes, ensuring compliance, and overseeing tracking of all agreements.
  7. Develop a strong understanding of Marketing and Midstream operations.
  8. Provide innovative perspectives to improve team processes.
  9. Act as a liaison between commercial groups, auditors, and Accounting.
  10. Work cross-functionally to advance departmental projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years of oil and gas industry experience, especially in accounting, Marketing, or Midstream operations.
  • 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Physical requirements include mobility, stamina, vision, hearing, and speech necessary for an office setting; reasonable accommodations may be provided.
