Job description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Data Analytics and Visualization Analyst. This key role within the CRA Governance Team requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication of complex ideas. The analyst will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for analytic reporting and visualization activities, focusing on BMO’s Community Benefits Plan (EMpower 2) and Line of Business compliance gap reporting for the bank’s CRA exam. The position is based in the Data Analytics and Reporting Team (DART) within CRA Governance and can be performed remotely.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop dashboards and analyses using appropriate visualization and analytics tools.
  2. Identify trends and patterns to provide insights that address business questions.
  3. Collaborate with data professionals to optimize, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable solutions.
  4. Create data visualizations that facilitate decision-making for large datasets.
  5. Document data flows, systems, and processes to improve business operations.
  6. Develop tools and deliver training for reporting tools and self-serve analytics to end users.
  7. Work primarily within BMO but may have enterprise-wide responsibilities.
  8. Exercise judgment to diagnose and solve problems within established guidelines.
  9. Work independently on complex tasks, including unique situations.
Qualifications:

Foundational skills include: technical design, decision-making, systems thinking, data visualization, storytelling, mining, illustration, creative thinking, and problem solving.

Intermediate skills include: insights design, reporting, communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, data-driven decision making, with 4-6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
