What You'll Do As a Data Analytics Specialist
- Researches complex data requests & collaborates with Epidemiology Investigators to identify business problems & opportunities to create dashboards to help management identify new data trends & recommend new solutions;
- Collects, analyzes, & documents business requirements for project proposals; Employs analytical results to address business problems &/or opportunities in formats accessible to non technical staff & stakeholders;
- Supports data specialists & scientists in guiding business leaders regarding interpretation & applicability of findings (e.g., program effectiveness, resource allocation, patient care best practices, impact on & patient outcomes, etc.);
- Identifies & validates data sets; Identifies missing or incomplete data & variables in the EMSIRS & OTR data; Analyzes relevant data to understand business patterns & trends;
- Works with Epidemiology Investigators to investigate & resolve data discrepancies across EMS data systems;
- Utilizes Tableau & Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) to complete data visualization requests using Emergency Medical Services Incident Reporting System (EMSIRS) & Ohio Trauma Registry (OTR);
Qualification Options
Option 1
48 mos. exp. in data analytics or statistical analysis or research methods.
Option 2
- Or completion of associate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;
- AND 30 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
Option 3
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;
- AND 24 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
Option 4
- Or completion of graduate core program in data analytics, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field;
- AND 12 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
Option 5
- Or 36 mos. exp as a Data Analytics Associate, 66930.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
