Blue Bottle Coffee seeks a seasoned analytics leader to guide the U.S. Finance data strategy. You will partner across Cafe Operations, Digital & Product, and Engineering to transform data into actionable insights that drive growth and guest experiences.

Your leadership will shape analytics roadmaps, KPI definitions, and trusted data foundations. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, AI-driven reporting, and commercial acumen to influence senior leaders and optimize profitability

Qualifications

• 6+ years in analytics, data science, or BI, ideally in hospitality, retail, or F&B.
• Expert SQL and modern data/BI tools; experience with ERP/planning systems.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude to speed up analysis or automate reporting.
• Experience with POS, loyalty, or digital ordering data and experiment design.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of P&L drivers.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across functions and levels.
• Passion for exceptional coffee and guest experiences.

• Lead guest analytics across app, ordering, subscriptions, and loyalty.
• Build dashboards and tools for Cafe Operations to track sales, traffic, labor, and service speed.
• Collaborate with Digital & Product to design and evaluate A/B tests for features and personalization.
• Analyze menu mix, pricing, and launch performance to shape product decisions.
• Support planning, forecasting, and business cases with data-driven recommendations for senior leaders.

About The Job

Blue Bottle Coffee is seeking a curious, commercially minded analytics leader to join the U.S. Finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will turn our cafe, digital, and product data into the tools and insights our teams use to run and grow the business. Working closely with Cafe Operations, Digital & Product, and Engineering, you will build trusted data foundations and deliver a clear view of the business, our guests, and our products.

This role is remote with a preference for candidates located in Pacific Time.

Employees are required to be based within 50 miles of one of the following established Blue Bottle Coffee geographic locations: The San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC Metro, New York City Metro, Las Vegas.

You Will

• Set the data and analytics roadmap, partnering with Engineering on infrastructure, KPI definitions, and a single source of truth.

You Have

• 6+ years in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, ideally in hospitality, retail, or food and beverage
• Expert SQL and experience with modern data and BI tools and ERP/Planning systems (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Sigma or Tableau, Netsuite, Adaptive); Python or R a plus.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude to speed up analysis, automate reporting, or make insights self-serve for business teams.
• Experience with POS, loyalty, or digital ordering data, and with experiment design.
• Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of P&L drivers.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across functions and levels.

$112,000 - $166,000 a year

This position has a salary range of $120,000 - $166,000 in California and NYC and $112,000 - $155,000 in our other market areas. This salary range is a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, which include a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
