Summary

Vertical Relevance is seeking an AWS Data & Analytics Consultant to join our team as a full-time remote employee. This role involves end-to-end planning, building, and deploying software systems, with a focus on well-constructed, testable code.

The AWS Data & Analytics Consultant will implement technical solutions for customer engagements, requiring strong teamwork, communication, patience, and organizational skills to ensure customer success.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers on their cloud adoption journey, providing technical and strategic advice.
• Consult, plan, design, and implement data solutions on the cloud, including:
• Designing AWS and multi-cloud Data Lake implementations
• Designing and developing AWS and multi-cloud Data Quality and Governance solutions
• Becoming a deep technical resource to earn customer trust
• Creating technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers
• Innovating and translating ideas into measurable results

Support solution development by conveying customer needs, assisting with technical briefs, and reference architecture implementations.

Support brand development through thought leadership, including writing blog posts and case studies with Marketing and Alliances teams.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting/operating Data/DevOps solutions on AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Customer-facing experience with Snowflake, Azure + Databricks, Databricks Repos, Databricks REST API.
• Refactoring Azure notebooks/jobs to AWS Databricks, building Autoloader ingestion & DLT pipelines, unit testing & tuning Spark.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Sample Activities

AWS Data Architecture and Data Lake Implementation

• Assist in building data collection, ingestion, storage, and access frameworks, integrating up to two on-premises data sources.
• Implement Amazon VPC, S3 bucket strategies, and impact analysis for data lakes.
• Achieve modern big data lambda architecture, supporting batch and streaming data.

Build Ingestion and Orchestration

• Design reusable data ingestion frameworks with monitoring, logging, and retry capabilities.
• Implement serverless ingestion solutions where applicable.

Orchestration

• Advise on extensible orchestration frameworks using AWS services like AWS Glue, Step Functions, Batch, Lambda, etc.

Storage and Catalog

• Build data lake storage solutions, including bucket management, encryption, partitioning, and lifecycle policies.

Relevant Technical Tools

• Languages: Python, Bash
• Tools & Libraries: Airflow, Kafka, Parquet, Spark, Metaflow, Git, Hadoop, Snowflake, Azure, Databricks
