Office of the State Auditor is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst II to join the Data Analytics Division. You’ll engage in solution engineering, technical consulting, and AI-enabled capabilities delivery, guiding projects from discovery through deployment.

The role requires deep knowledge of systems analysis, development, and data automation. It is a full-time exempt policy-making position in North Carolina, with competitive state benefits and opportunities to impact public accountability.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply thorough knowledge of systems analysis, application development, programming, integration, automation, data solutions, testing, deployment, and technical support
• Translate ambiguous business needs into actionable technical plans and solutions
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, APIs, automation, analytics platforms, cloud services, version control, and CI/CD practices

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery to understand business problems, processes, and outcomes
• Design, configure, test, deploy, and support reliable applications and data solutions
• Independently organize multiple projects with urgent and long-term deliverables
• Document requirements, designs, runbooks, and training materials
• Investigate and resolve application, data, or workflow issues and implement root-cause fixes
