Job summary

RiverSource is seeking a Data Analytics & AI Intern to gain hands-on experience applying data and emerging technologies to solve business challenges in an in-person, team-oriented setting in Minneapolis. You will review data, create dashboards, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for insurance, operations, and leadership.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates graduating in Dec 2027 or May/June 2028, with interest in analytics, AI, data science, or related fields.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate student with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Interest in data analytics, business analytics, artificial intelligence, data science, operations, finance, insurance, or a related area.
• Comfort working with information, asking questions, and solving problems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review business and operational data to identify trends, questions, and opportunities for improvement.
• Help create or improve dashboards, reports, scorecards, or visuals that make information easier to understand.
• Partner with team members to learn how data supports insurance, operations, and leadership decision-making.
• Explore practical ways AI or automation could simplify recurring work or improve business processes.
• Organize findings and help translate data into clear, audience-friendly recommendations.
• Collaborate with business partners and present project learnings or recommendations at the end of the internship.
