Job description

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:

Provide analytical and database support for the analysis of program and campaign performance. Support, optimize and enhance the real-time reporting structure that powers program and campaign effectiveness, as well as use that infrastructure to generate powerful insights that inform the strategy of the Direct Response team at large. Work closely with managers for low-dollar, mid-level, sustainer and new donor programs. Support the department’s use of data and analytics for direct mail, telemarketing and digital, to include email. Support the Director of Direct Response in fundraising analysis and project management around new data initiatives to improve the donor experience and fundraising performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Maintain and optimize the database to support the regular reporting and segmentation needs driven of a growing donor base.
  • Manage data and analytics for all programs and campaigns in collaboration with external analytics and fundraising consultants.
  • Provide clean and aggregated fundraising data to generate actionable insights.
  • Create segmentations, imports/exports lists, and assist direct response team with review of data output files and segmentation logic.
  • Build custom reports, dashboards and visualizations.
  • Conduct campaign audits, analysis and data mining to identify trends and forecasting.
  • Integrate data sets from multiple sources and platforms (CRM, Sisense, HubSpot, Google Analytics, and more) and validate integrations.
  • Support combined integrated data analysis with direct mail and digital teams.
  • Troubleshoot data problems and work with internal stakeholders to address.
  • Transform and clean data to support analytics needs.
  • Collaborate with external data professionals, bringing best practices in-house.
  • Serve as lead on data and analytics, working in conjunction with the digital optimization and campaign manager.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Hold 3 to 6 years of professional experience in data analysis roles.
  • Experienced analytics professional able to resolve a wide range of data challenges.
  • Hands-on data experience in a nonprofit CRM environment, preferably Virtuous.
  • Experience transforming data using Sisense, Tableau, PowerBI or similar platform.
  • Proficient SQL/PL user with working knowledge of CRUD operations and dynamic SQL.
  • Comfortable working with data-related python and/or R packages for data cleaning and modeling.
  • Practical statistical expertise and understanding of direct mail and digital campaigns.
  • Proven ability to adhere to deadlines and to seek out learning and support.
  • Proven soft skills: Excellent verbal & written communication skills, self-starter; ability to work independently, ability to adapt and respond to various situations.
  • Maintain ethical standards consistent with fundraising professionals’ code of conduct.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Business

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practicing Catholic preferred.
