Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking STEM professionals to support mission-critical manufacturing operations through advanced analytics, modeling, and decision-support tool development.
The role involves synthesizing production and facility data into meaningful metrics and visualizations, analyzing large datasets, and designing discrete-event simulations to assess changes in schedule, capacity, and infrastructure.
The Manufacturing Focused Analysis Group (PAT-1) within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP) at Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks highly motivated STEM professionals to support mission-critical manufacturing operations through advanced analytics, modeling, and decision-support tool development.
Additional focus areas include digital twin integration (including NVIDIA Omniverse environments), LiDAR data processing and spatial analysis, advanced visualization development, and enterprise dashboard solutions.
The position will be filled at either the Scientist 1 or Scientist 2 level, depending on the selected candidate’s experience. Candidates at the higher level will assume additional responsibilities.
Scientist 1 ($96,600 – $158,000)Education/Experience at lower level: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Work Location: Onsite in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs. The position commitment for this role is 1 year.
Clearance: Q. This position requires a Q clearance. Selected applicants must be U.S. citizens, except in rare circumstances. Background investigation and eligibility requires at least 18 years of age and U.S. citizenship.
All selected candidates must complete a new-employment drug test. Positive results for marijuana will result in termination of employment.
