Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico is seeking engineers to support PAT-1 in manufacturing analytics, modeling, and decision‑support tool development. The role may be filled at R&D Engineer 1 or 2 depending on candidate skills.

Candidates will work with data scientists and engineers to build dashboards, simulate processes, and translate analyses into actionable recommendations for leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience applying problem-solving techniques to data, results, and/or simulations
• Analysis skills to compile and interpret data and present results with statistical concepts
• Ability to translate elicited data into effective requirements and planning assumptions
• Effective written and oral communication with subject matter experts and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Develop decision‑support tools that synthesize production and facility data into metrics and visualizations
• Process, structure, and analyze large and diverse operational datasets
• Design and implement discrete‑event simulation models to evaluate process behavior and changes
• Integrate analytics outputs into dashboards and executive‑level reporting
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to define problem statements and validate assumptions
