Job summary

WorkGenius Group in Foster City, CA, is seeking a Data Analyst – Part-Time Student Worker to support fleet analytics and operations. You will analyze telemetry, logs, and dispatch data to identify trends and actionable insights.

You will build and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking using SQL and Python, collaborating with operations, engineering, product, and frontline teams to deliver reliable analytics and self-service data.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, CS, business analytics, or related field.
• Strong SQL proficiency with experience analyzing large datasets.
• Experience building dashboards/reports using Looker/Tableau/Power BI.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Available onsite at least 20 hours/week with a minimum three-month commitment; Python, Databricks, SQL/NoSQL, or fleet/logistics experience preferred.

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Responsibilities

• Analyze vehicle telemetry, service logs, dispatch data, and operational metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and actionable insights.
• Build and maintain operational dashboards, recurring reports, and KPI tracking for fleet performance, mission success, readiness, utilization, safety, and efficiency.
• Use SQL and Python to query, transform, analyze, and automate reporting for large operational datasets across SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, product, and frontline teams to translate business needs into reliable analytics, reporting solutions, and self-service datasets.
• Communicate data-driven recommendations and support continuous improvement of fleet operations, internal tools, feedback loops, and reporting processes.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with large datasets to produce actionable insights.
• Experience building dashboards, reports, KPIs, and visualizations using tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Available to work onsite at least 20 hours per week and commit to a minimum three-month assignment; Python, Databricks, SQL/NoSQL, or fleet and logistics experience is preferred.
