Job summary

Barbaricum is seeking a Journeyman Data Analyst to assess, process, and support data collection while delivering high‑impact analytical decision‑support and strategic analysis of assessment data for the Headquarters Air Force Mission Assurance program.

Interface with senior leaders, design automated data workflows in secure platforms, model COAs, and quantify cost of inaction to inform resource allocations and risk mitigation across DoD networks.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience with DoW, specifically dealing with critical infrastructure, readiness, or operations.
• Willingness to travel CONUS or OCONUS approximately 25% of the time.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with people at all levels; ability to coordinate with inter-agency and inter-service partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and deep understanding of risk-management principles.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with senior leaders and capability providers to deliver quantitative, data‑driven clarity on Mission Assurance risks and strategic operational readiness.
• Formulate rigorous tasking packages and staffing materials backed by predictive analytics to justify resource allocations across military command channels.
• Design and deploy decision‑support products, automated data workflows, and monitoring views inside secure enterprise platforms like Palantir Foundry and Advana.
• Model and mathematically forecast multiple COAs to provide commanders with clear success probabilities and asset degradation metrics.
• Construct algorithmic ROI decision models to evaluate financial and operational trade‑offs of proposed security enhancements and infrastructure upgrades.
• Quantify the cost of inaction by mapping threat probabilities against asset replacement costs and potential mission failure impacts.
• Synthesize complex data outputs into executive-level dashboards, briefs, and information papers tailored for general officer consumption.
• Conduct data-driven risk‑mitigation analysis to identify critical structural vulnerabilities and single points of failure across strategic military networks.
• Leverage AI/ML methodologies to extract actionable risk indicators from unstructured datasets and historical assessment documentation.
• Bridge the gap between capability providers and data engineers to ensure pipeline data architecture maps to real-world mission capabilities.
