Job summary

Dow Jones Data Analyst Intern in New York City will join the Data Management team for a 10-week summer program, contributing to data insights, engineering, and transformation initiatives. You will work on dashboards and reports for consumer and professional information brands, including Factiva, WSJ, Barron’s, and MarketWatch.

You will be paired with a mentor and participate in development sessions while collaborating with a diverse intern community.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a 4-year undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject.
• Experience with data analysis and problem solving on large data sets.
• Basic SQL, Python or relational databases.
• Strong Excel skills with advanced formulas.
• Clear written and verbal communication of analyses.

Responsibilities

• Assist with customer-facing report deliveries and ad hoc requests.
• Interpret trends from data and explain dynamics to stakeholders.
• Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards using approved tools.
• Apply quantitative analysis and data exploration to understand user behavior.
• Support data pipelines, analysis, models, and visualization end-to-end.
