Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Data Analyst Intern in New York City to help shape bikeshare by transforming data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with Operations, Data Science & Analytics, and Finance to align data-driven strategies with city transportation goals.

You will develop dashboards, define metrics, and translate business problems into clearly defined requirements while working in a hybrid in-office model.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field with graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Available Summer 2027 for internship in New York City.
• Proficient in SQL (required) and quantitative analysis.
• Ability to translate unstructured business problems into clearly defined requirements with minimal oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to transition between detailed data and high-level business problems.
• Great communication (listening, written, and oral) skills with the ability to present findings & recommendations targeted to the audience in question.

Responsibilities:

Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in mathematical sciences (Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Behavioral Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.), Economics (Microeconomics Theory, Econometrics etc.), Data Engineering; or a related field; with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 (required)
• Available during Summer 2027 for an internship in New York City
• Proficient in SQL (required) and quantitative analysis, you can deep dive into large amounts of data, draw meaningful insights, dissect business issues and draw actionable conclusions
• Ability to translate unstructured business problems into clearly defined requirements with minimal oversight
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to transition between detailed data and high-level business problems
• Great communication (listening, written, and oral) skills with the ability to present findings & recommendations targeted to the audience in question
• Strong attention to detail, structured thinking and experiences developing processes to reduce human error

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $45-$47/hour USD, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
