TheGuarantors is seeking a Data Analyst to join the growing Analytics team in New York. Report to the Director of Analytics, you will transform data into insights that drive decision-making across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Underwriting.

Ideal candidates have a solid SQL and data visualization foundation, eager to grow technical skills, business understanding, and impact in a fast-paced fintech environment. Hybrid NYC role (3 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Statistics or related field.
• 3+ years in a data analyst/BI role within Fintech or Insurance.
• Strong SQL and data visualization skills.
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Underwriting teams to deliver reports with actionable insights.
• Translate and analyze complex data sets to identify key business drivers, trends, and opportunities to improve performance.
• Create and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI, integrating data from multiple sources.
• Own ad-hoc reporting across internal teams for strategic alignment.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address evolving data needs and ensure data consistency.
• Document data definitions, reports, and data structures for clarity and scalability.

The Role

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing Analytics team in New York. Reporting to the Director of Analytics, you will play a key role in transforming data into insights that drive business decisions across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Underwriting.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in SQL and data visualization who is eager to grow their technical skills, business understanding, and impact in a fast-paced, collaborative fintech environment. You’ll work cross-functionally to uncover trends, optimize processes, and empower teams with data-driven insights that move the business forward.

Location
This is hybrid role based in NYC (3 days/week onsite).

What You’ll Do

• Lead cross-functional projects with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Underwriting teams to understand requirements and develop reports that deliver actionable insights for key decision-makers.
• Translate and analyze complex data sets to identify key business drivers, uncover trends, and highlight opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
• Create and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI, integrating data from multiple sources to deliver a visual story, driving strong business decisions.
• Own ad-hoc reporting across all internal teams to ensure business strategic alignment.
• Leverage dbt to clean, structure, and transform data within the data warehouse, maintaining high-quality datasets for analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address evolving data needs and ensure data consistency across the organization.
• Document data definitions, reports, and structures to maintain clarity, scalability, and data integrity for all stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or business intelligence role within a Fintech or Insurance company
• Hands‑on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Experienced with SQL
• Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills, including data mining, evaluation, and visualization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented and curious about how data informs decisions across product, marketing, sales, and operations.

Nice to Have:

Working knowledge and experience with:

• dbt (data build tool)
• Snowflake

Our Data Stack

Our analytics ecosystem is built on Snowflake for data warehousing, dbt for transformations, and Power BI for visualization and reporting. Data pipelines are managed through Stitch, with Dagster orchestrating automated workflows for file exports and email processes. All dbt projects are version-controlled in GitHub, ensuring reliability and collaboration across the team.

The base salary range is between $115,000 - $145,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
