General Summary:

The Information Security Metrics and Quality Data Analyst is responsible for simple to moderately complex data profiling, analysis, and mapping with little to no oversight. They exhibit mastery of tools and technical skills related to data organization and visualization supporting information security (cybersecurity) risks and operations. This candidate works closely with Security Analysts, Security Engineers, Project Managers, and Global Information Security leadership. They deliver high-quality KRI/KPI reports and accurately estimate work required to fulfill responsibilities. They apply critical thinking skills to data analysis to enhance the delivery and maintenance of information security KRI and KPI.

Location: 2 days onsite per week at one of the following campus locations: Portland, ME; Chattanooga, TN; Atlanta, GA; or Columbia, SC.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with demonstrated success at the Data Analyst 1 level or equivalent.
  • Mastery of data profiling, analysis concepts, data anomalies, and data mapping activities.
  • Mastery of data modeling concepts.
  • Mastery of PowerBI data modeling and visualization development.
  • Strong data analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with ETL processes, especially integrating data into BI tools like Power BI.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Effective team collaboration and communication skills.
  • Adaptability to change and problem-solving approach.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across the organization.

Preferred Experience: Knowledge of information security and cybersecurity data practices, including security metrics, vulnerabilities, bug tracking, and incident reporting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources for business insights.
  • Source to target data mapping specifications.
  • Design simple to moderately complex data models and visualizations, collaborating with analysts, engineers, and leadership. Lead sizing and estimation activities within the agile team.
  • Create and maintain metadata documentation.
  • Collaborate with test engineers for data validation and testing.
  • Maintain knowledge of information security practices and the insurance industry.
  • Adhere to architectural standards.
  • Apply critical thinking to recommend and implement data management practices that add business value.
  • Focus on improving customer experience through data solutions.

The salary range for this position is $73,300.00-$150,500.00, based on skills, location, and experience. Unum offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, dental, disability insurance, incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer matching.
