Job description

Description
About Us

At Gifthealth, we're revolutionizing the way people experience healthcare by simplifying the process of managing prescriptions and health services. Our mission is to provide a seamless, personalized, and efficient healthcare experience for all our customers. We're a dynamic, innovative, and customer-centric company dedicated to making a positive impact on people's lives.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Data Analyst II to own recurring reporting and ad hoc analysis for an assigned manufacturer program or internal domain, becoming the person who knows that program's enrollment funnel, payer quirks, fulfillment path, and data sources deeply. This position plays a key role in supporting the Data & Analyticsdepartment and reports to the Manager, Analytics & Reporting, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.

Depth in one program or domain beats a thin layer across many, especially in the first year. This role has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own one manufacturer program or internal domain deeply: its enrollment funnel, payer quirks, fulfillment path, and where its data comes from and lives.
  • Own recurring reporting that goes out on a schedule: weekly and monthly program reporting plus support for daily feeds, reviewing numbers before they leave and raising unexplained changes rather than shipping them.
  • Answer questions with a deadline attached by tracing them through claim adjudication, prior authorization status, prescription state changes, and fulfillment records, returning an answer plus your confidence in it.
  • Write down metric definitions when you settle a disagreement for your program, keep reporting consistent with them, and document them where the next person will find them.
  • Build dashboards in Looker, our primary BI platform (Metabase also in use, migrating off Domo), including client-facing Looker work that is still being stood up, and raise a dbt model request when logic belongs in the warehouse rather than in a dashboard tile.
  • Handle PHI carefully as a daily practice: know what your access covers, use the minimum you need, and ask before moving patient-level data anywhere new.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; not required. We evaluate demonstrated capability rather than credentials.
  • Licensure/Certification: Not applicable.
  • Experience: Typically 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis. This band is guidance rather than a gate.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Can take a vague question, sharpen it into something answerable, and come back with the answer and its caveats without needing to be checked on daily.
    • Validates work: counts rows, compares against a second source, and asks why a total does not tie before anyone else has to ask.
    • Writes and speaks plainly about what you found, so someone in an account or operations role can read your summary and act on it.
    • Comfortable being told a number is wrong: finds out why and says so rather than quietly patching it, and is curious about how the healthcare and pharmacy operation actually works.
    • A couple of years of analysis work where SQL was the main tool: you can write more than a simple join, including window functions and careful aggregation, and you take the time to figure out grain before writing anything.
    • Demonstrated application of the above Qualification
    • Nice to have: pharmacy, claims, or payer data experience (prior authorizations, adjudication, benefit verification, NDCs, dispensing workflows); dbt experience contributing transformation logic rather than only reading from it; Looker or LookML exposure; Snowflake (we are mid-migration from PostgreSQL); Python for analysis that does not fit in SQL; or experience producing work that went to an external client.
Work Environment
  • Location: Columbus, OH or Remote (US).
  • Schedule: Full-time; standard business hours.
  • May require flexibility around reporting deadlines tied to weekly, monthly, and daily program feeds.
  • Regular collaboration with account and operations teams and manufacturer program contacts, plus time on the distribution center floor and with the call center to understand the operation firsthand.
Key Essential Functions
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with account and operations stakeholders
  • Must be able to handle and access data in compliance with HIPAA and PHI handling requirements
  • Must be able to periodically visit the distribution center and call center to observe operations firsthand
